This Excel database file is compiled by Tire Business from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s list of DOT codes that identify tire production specifics.
This file contains the DOT codes, parent company and location of more than 1,100 tire entities.
The DOT list was cross-checked with Tire Business’ Global Tire Report databases to ensure codes are matched accurately with each plant’s current owner/operator.
This list excludes codes assigned to plants that are closed or are assigned to facilities that don’t make new pneumatic tires (such as retread plants or research and development centers). The DOT has issued a second set of 3-place alpha/numeric codes, covering every existing plant location in its database, in line with regulations issued in April 2015 by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The 2-place codes are to be phased out no later than 2025.
All new factories are being issued 3-place codes only.
