KINGSTON, N.H. — The New England Tire & Service Association (NETSA) has canceled its 2020 trade show in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
The show was to be held April 3-4 at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn.
The NETSA board of directors said it instead is developing plans for a virtual show, in which new products, informational seminars and speakers' content may be viewed online. The group said it has a new member communication platform that allows it to communicate with members more easily, and it plans to use that to keep its members informed and educated.
Hotel reservations of members who reserved rooms under the NETSA group code will be canceled automatically. NETSA said Mohegan Sun will confirm cancellations via e-mail.
All exhibitors and members will be offered full refunds for trade show booths, meals and sponsorships.
NETSA said it will hold all items donated and auction them off during the fall 2020 NETSA Charity Golf Tournament, scheduled for September.
NETSA said its trade show and Scholarship Charity Golf Tournament represent its primary source of funding to maintain its organization as well as offer 20 academic scholarships valued at $2,000 each to students who intend to pursue college and technical college studies after high school.
Anyone who wants to donate any portion of his or her 2020 NETSA Trade Show investment toward the scholarship program is asked to notify Tony DeSimone at [email protected] or via phone at 855-638-7248.
