AKRON — To ensure "uninterrupted" services nationwide, Myers Tire Supply told customers this week it has increased inventory levels and enhanced its supply chain.
In an April 6 letter addressed to customers, suppliers and the transportation industry, William Bailey, director of operations for Myers Tire Supply, said the company is "closely monitoring various and fast-moving developments relating to COVID-19 and have resources in place to provide continued service."
While acknowledging that the safety of its employees and customers is Myers' top priority, Mr. Bailey wrote the company has "developed processes" to help it "fully support our customers who keep America rolling."
Myers Tire Supply sales and customer support team is made up of over 200 industry professionals, Mr. Bailey wrote.
Myers Tire operates distribution centers in Pomona, Calif., Salt Lake City, Utah, Memphis, Tenn., and Akron, which the company claims allows it to deliver in-stock orders to 98% of the U.S. in two days or less.
Last year, Myers Industries Inc. enhanced its portfolio by acquiring the assets of Tuffy Manufacturing Industries Inc., a Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio-based warehouse distributor of tire repair equipment and supplies.
