ROVERETO, Italy — Concerned about the possibility its Italian operations could be suspended, Marangoni Retreading Systems is taking measures to serve its European customers through the company's plant in Henstedt-Ulzburg, Germany.
"In order to prevent any problems due to the eventual suspension of the Italian production's activities, Marangoni already started organizing its plant in Henstedt-Ulzburg (Germany) to serve all its European customers," the company said.
Marangoni said it is awaiting word from Italian authorities regarding the potential of production at its Ferentino, Italy, factory being suspended.
Marangoni acquired the German tread rubber facility, then known as Ellerbrock Reifenrunderneuerungs-Technologie G.m.b.H., in 1990 and has since made a "considerable investment" at the site, according to information on the company's website.
Marangoni Retreading Systems is a division of Marangoni Group, which develops and distributes materials and technologies for precure retreading of truck and bus tires, the company said.
