CLEMSON, S.C. — The organizer of the Clemson University Global Tire Industry Conference has rescheduled this year's gathering for Sept. 1-3 on Hilton Head Island, S.C.
The organizer — Clemson University's Center for Corporate Learning — recently announced the postponement of the 2020 event, scheduled for April 28-30, due to "growing concerns" around the COVID-19 virus.
The rescheduled conference will take place at the Sonesta Resort on Hilton Head Island, the same location that the gathering was set to use in April before being postponed.
This year's Clemson University Global Tire Industry Conference is the 38th annual such conference.
Michelin North America Inc. Chairman and President Alexis Garcin was scheduled to keynote this year's conference.
The three-day gathering's program lists five subject categories in half-day sessions: Testing, Investigations and Liability; Future Tire Trends/Requirements; Tire Industry Outlook/Inside-Outside Perspective; Innovations in Tire Materials; and The Tire's Last Mile Delivery – Recycling & Sustainability.
