AKRON — Last social media blog I spoke with an attorney about social media use for employees — how they are protected and how they are not.
AKRON — It's that time of year again where we take a look back one last time before sailing away into next year.
AKRON — It is that time of year again. As we travel through the holiday season and look toward the New Year, I wanted to take a look back at some of the ways tire dealers have been using social media this year. While there are many different types of social media posts, through different social media sites, here are some of my favorites that were posted on Facebook and Twitter this year. These are listed in no particular order.
AKRON — During the recent Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas, I had a chance to stop by Eric the Car Guy's http://www.ericthecarguy.com session, where he spoke about posting automotive and automotive aftermarket videos online, especially in regards to YouTube,
AKRON — Last week I had the opportunity to attend sessions covering various topics impacting the independent tire dealer. One of those sessions was with Michael Brown, founder of the Brainzooming Group, who gave strategic tips and advice for companies with one-person or small-group social media teams.
AKRON — Let me sing you a little ditty, about Ricky and Dianne. While John Mellencamp's song was about Jack and Diane, I think he should have told the story of the Bentons instead.
AKRON — One of the most common activities on Facebook is to “Like” a post, photo, etc. While users have been asking for a “Dislike” button for years, Facebook always denied the request. Until now…sort of. Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook announced they are working on a “Dislike” button because, frankly, not every news shared on the site is good news.
AKRON — People are obsessed with their phones. We watch people at restaurants sitting together and texting. We see more people sitting on the floor at airports just to be near an outlet so they can charge up before getting on an airplane.
AKRON — Whether you are ready or not, it's that time of year again: Pumpkin spice season, I mean, autumn. With this season comes pretty scenarios, time for snow tires and so much more. It also provides a great opportunity on social media to relate to your followers and to get them into your store. I have compiled a quick list of social media posts that your shop can be posting through the next few months.
AKRON – Tire Business' Sept. 14 print issue has a focus on young tire dealers. Online, Tire Business has been running a “Generations in the Workplace” series that details tips for managing and working with all the different generations. I decided for this social media post, I would jump on the bandwagon of these topics and detail some social media sites and apps that young professionals may be using.
