Johnson joined Tire Business in January 2020 as a long-time reporter for parent company Crain Communications Inc.

He started in working for daily newspapers in 1985 before joining Crain in 1997. Johnson graduated with a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Point Park University in Pittsburgh.
