DALLAS — Ivy Chin, American Tire Distributors (ATD) Inc.'s chief digital and technology officer, was named one of the 50 most powerful women in technology recently by the National Diversity Council (NDC).
Ms. Chin was recognized for her work "developing and activating the tools that enable ATD's continued digitization" enabling ATD to "deliver an unsurpassed associate and customer experience," according to the council. She was honored during the 15th Annual Diversity and Leadership Conference in Dallas.
The NDC compiles a list annually of the 50 most powerful women in technology as a way to highlight the "highest caliber of executive female leaders within the technology industry," according to ATD. The council selects females for being effective leaders, innovators and change agents within their organizations, all while inspiring others and driving business growth."
Ms. Chin called the award "a tribute to our superb team, to our business partners and to all of my fellow associates at ATD for their continued support and inspiration."
"Ivy has played an important role in ATD's transformation to be the most connected and insightful automotive solutions provider in the industry," ATD President and CEO Stuart Schuette said.
"Ivy has helped us optimize the digital infrastructure that has enabled our transformation, allowing us to help our customers and manufacturer partners thrive."
ATD also was recognized for its technology push recently when it received three Blue Diamond Awards for creating business impact via technology and human capital, presented by the Charlotte Area Technology Collaborative.
The awards recognized ATD for creating the business value in the deployment and use of information technology systems and making major contributions to the development and recruitment of IT talent to the Charlotte area.
