ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Monro Inc. has acquired Allied Discount Tire & Brake Inc. of Lafayette, La., and is in the process of renaming the dealership's 12 retail locations in southern Louisiana as Tire Choice Auto Service Centers.
The acquisition, which was presaged in the company's third quarter financial results, gives Monro its first presence in the Bayou State. Allied Discount Tire represents $15 million in annualized sales with a 35/65 service/tires sales mix, Monro said.
Financial terms were not disclosed. Most of the stores are in the Lafayette/Baton Rouge area.
In a statement posted on Allied Discount Tire's former website, Monro said: Tire Choice is proud to welcome Allied Discount Tire & Brake to the Monro Inc. family of tire and automotive service centers. The signs on the 12 former Allied Tire stores will soon change, but not the professional staff you've come to rely on and trust."
Allied Discount Tire was founded in 1984.
Monro uses the Tire Choice name primarily in Florida, where it recently renamed 13 Rick Johnson Auto & Tire Stores in the Fort Myers area with that name.
