BOWIE, Md. — The Tire Industry Association (TIA) has added Detroit to its scheduled stops on the 2019 Certified Automotive Tire Service (ATS) training tour.
Dec. 10-13 will be the dates for the Detroit session of the ATS training tour, TIA said. The exact venue in Detroit wasn't disclosed.
There will be seven ATS training seminars in all for 2019. The Feb. 5-8 class in Charlotte, N.C., already has taken place.
Besides Detroit, the remaining tour places and dates are:
- Louisville, Ky., March 26-29.
- Mission Viejo, Calif., May 21-24.
- Denver, Aug. 13-16.
- Seattle, Sept. 10-13.
- Baltimore, Nov. 12-15.
The Certified ATS program is a 300- and 400-level certification that offers in-depth, comprehensive instruction to professional tire technicians on recommended procedures for servicing tires on automobiles and light trucks, TIA said.
Certified ATS is designed for the professional passenger and light truck tire technicians. Training subjects range from the relationship between torque and clamping force to relearn and diagnostic procedures for tire pressure monitoring systems, the association said.
