SUPERIOR, Wisc. — Synthetic lubricants and high-performance product manufacturer Amsoil Inc. has become the title sponsor of the Spokane, Wash.-based Seehorn Rally Team, extending its partnership with Jeff Seehorn and Karen Jankowski for 2019.
Mr. Seehorn and Ms. Jankowski are the first consecutive national class champions in the American Rally Association (ARA) championship. In 2018, they won five out of six class wins and secured five top-three overall finishes, placing second in the overall championship.
Mr. Seehorn, owner/driver of the Seehorn Rally Team, said he is "incredibly excited" for Amsoil to become the title sponsor.\
"Not only does Amsoil have great lubricants," he said, "but they have an awesome culture with racing embedded deep in its roots."
Superior-based Amsoil also is becoming the presenting sponsor for the ASA series. The company will continue to provide a contingency program this season that awards teams in the ARA series that run AMSOIL products.
Mr. Seehorn, who has more than 30 years of motorsports experience, lauded the company for being a presenting sponsor for ARA, but also for its "amazing contingency program for teams to win Amsoil products" and its "large effort to support rally in North America."
Kevin Kastner, Amsoil racing and events manager, said rally racing "tests the limits of a car and its team," making it a perfect fit for the Seehorn Rally Team.
The Seehorn Rally Team will compete in five rounds of the ARA championship: 100 Acre Wood, Olympus Rally, Oregon Trail Rally, Idaho Rally and Ojibwe Rally. The first event will be the 100 Acre Wood Rally, held March 15-16 in Salem, Mo.
Ms. Jankowski, co-driver, Seehorn Rally Team, called Amsoil a "great partner" and taking "that partnership to the next level this season is such a great opportunity for us. Nothing is more grueling than rally racing, so it's exciting for us to continue to test their superior products in all types of conditions."
