UPPER DARBY, Pa. — Girls Auto Clinic Repair Center, an auto repair shop with female mechanics and a "while-u-wait" nail salon near Philadelphia, apparently is going Hollywood.
Shop owner Patrice Banks recently announced a television sitcom has been created based on her business, called "Patty's Auto."
According to published reports, 20th Century Fox has ordered a pilot episode of the scripted ensemble comedy from writer Darlene Hunt, Elizabeth Banks' and Max Handelman's Brownstone Productions and Warner Bros. Television.
The comedy focuses on "Patty" and the eclectic women who work for her.
Ms. Hunt will serve as writer and executive producer. She previously created the Showtime series "The Big C" and recently worked on ABC's revival of "Roseanne" and "The Conners."
Patrice Banks is serving as consulting producer.
