INDIANAPOLIS — Indy Tire Centers Inc. dba Best-One of Indy has acquired Frank Anderson Tire Co. in Columbus, Ind.
Owner Frank Anderson partnered with the Zurcher family to open the dealership in 1971, and it became a member of the Best-One Tire & Service dealership network.
Best-One was founded in 1948 by Paul Zurcher in Monroe, Ind., and the network has grown to more than 250 affiliated locations in 26 states.
Best-One of Indy also is a network member and operates nine locations in the Indianapolis market. The dealership changed its stores' signage from Indy Tire Centers last March.
"I was approached by Best-One of Indy. It was like a path lit up for me because it keeps us linked to the partners I started with," said Mr. Anderson, who is retiring.
"Best-One of Indy strives to do things the right way and be proper members of the community. The best and deciding factor of this exit strategy is that our employees will still be here and in place."
Kevin Rich, Frank Anderson Tire's store manager who has been with the business for 32 years, will remain as store manager for the new operation.
Best-One of Indy President Rich Elliott said, "We look forward to continuing the legacy that Frank Anderson and his team has built in the community of Columbus, Ind. — delivering superior customer service and being a trusted provider of retail, commercial and agricultural tires."
