NASHVILLE — Bridgestone Americas Inc. has added an on-/off-road drive-axle tread design, the BLSS, to its line of Bandag-brand precured tread rubber products.
The Bandag BLSS tread is engineered for the drive position with a tread compound designed to resist cutting and chipping in order to increase tread life while offering a powerful grip in severe service applications.
"We recognize severe service fleets face the toughest driving conditions when alternating between on- and off-road environments and need a longer-lasting tire engineered to meet their unique performance requirements," LaTres Jarrett, director of marketing, Bandag, Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations, said.
Key features of the retread are:
- A full 32/32nds inch tread depth for longer wear;
- A stone rejection technology for added durability; and
- A specialized compound to decrease chipping and cutting in tough conditions.
Bridgestone is offering the BLSS in seven sizes, ranging from 200mm wide to 270mm wide.
