American Honda reports that some 2007-09 Acura RDX SUVs are prone to illuminating the amber brake system warning lamp and storing trouble code P16D9 in the computer memory. The car maker attributes the condition to the PCM misinterpreting the feedback signals from the electric vacuum pump.
Updating the module with new software is the only remedy. Check with a dealer for the application specifics.
