PANAMA CITY, Fla. — TBC Corp. has opened a Tire Kingdom Service Center in Panama City, its first in the Florida Panhandle.
The store, in a converted Mad Hatter Muffler & Auto Center location, has six service bays and 14 employees. Panama City is a city of 37,000 on St. Andrews Bay on the Gulf of Mexico.
The expansion opens a new territory for Tire Kingdom, as the next closest TK stores are in Tallahassee, Fla., 95 miles east of Panama City.
"Our expansion plans in the Florida panhandle began about four years ago, and we're excited about the opportunity to continue serving the great people of Panama City in our newest location," Bill Shull, TBC division vice president, said.
Expansion plans in this area hit close to home for Tire Kingdom team members; leadership team members are from the area and, unfortunately, like so many, were impacted by the 2018 hurricanes that forced them to rebuild their homes and relocate their families.
The team, in partnership with the great people in the area, is eager to assist with the reinvigoration and the revival of the community.
TBC President and CEO Erik Olsen said TBC hopes to meet customer expectations in the Panhandle and will engage in philanthropic initiatives aimed at giving back.
