KOBE, Japan — Subaru Corp. has selected an 18-inch version of the Falken Ziex ZE001 A/S all-season performance tire as an OE fitment on the Hybrid edition of the 2019 five-passenger Crosstrek SUV.
The plug-in/hybrid version of the Crosstrek is scheduled to go on sale in the U.S. this winter season, according to Falken-brand producer Sumitomo Rubber Industries Ltd. (SRI), which said the ZE001 A/S "strikes an outstanding balance between high all-road performance and excellent fuel efficiency to fulfill the performance needs of the Crosstrek Hybrid."
The fitment is size 255/55R18 98H.
Subaru already fits this tire and size as an OE option on the Limited edition of the Crosstrek, which debuted in North America in late 2017.
The four-door Crosstrek Hybrid hatchback combine the efficiency of a plug-in electric vehicle for city commuting with the long-range capability of the car maker's Boxer-style gasoline engine for road trips without limits. The Crosstrek Hybrid provides up to 90 MPGe and up to 480 miles of total vehicle range, Subaru claims.
