Subaru reports that some of its 2008-12 Legacy, Outback and Tribeca models with the 3.6-liter engine may suffer from an oil seepage issue at the block sealing surface of the left (bank 2) cylinder head.
The Japanese auto maker attributes the problem to the head gasket's inability to adequately contain the oil mist that's contained in the pressurized crankcase gases.
Installing a new-design, improved cylinder head gasket, part No. 10944AA061, should eliminate the issue.
