RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. — Nissan North America Inc. has selected a pair of all-season Falken-brand tires as OE fitments on the company's 2019 Nissan Altima sedan and Rogue crossover vehicle, according to Sumitomo Rubber North America Inc. (SRNA), purveyor of the Falken brand.

Nissan will fit the Falken Sincera SN250A tire OE on 2019 Altimas sold in the U.S. and Canada, and the Ziex ZE001 tire on the Rogue. The Altima fitment is size P215/60R16, H rated, while the Rogue fitment, size 225/60R18, is the optional fitment for the SV model range.

Nissan assembles both vehicles in the U.S.

    The redesigned 2019 Altima sedan is powered either by a 188-hp, 2.5-liter direct-injection four-cylinder matched with an all-wheel-drive system or a 2.0-liter variable-compression turbo inline-four that generates 248 hp.

The 2019 Rogue comes in three trim levels, all equipped with a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine rated at 170 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque and available with all-wheel drive.

The Sincera SN250A A/S features a symmetric ribbed tread pattern designed to create stiffer grooves that support each other for even wear, prolonging the life of the tire, SRNA said.

The Ziex ZE001 features Falken's patented Silent Core technology, which incorporates a double-humped layer of polyurethane foam material attached to the tire's inner liner to help reduce noise.

These fitments extend an OE relationship that started two years ago on the 2016 Rogue, SRNA noted, and are the seventh and eighth OE fitments the tire maker has secured this year on 2018 or 2019 vehicles.
