Company officials and local dignitaries celebrate completion of a 27,000-sq.-ft. addition to Mighty Distributing System of America's warehouse in Jackson, Tenn. Attending are (rom left) Jerry Gist, city mayor; Jimmy Harris, county mayor; Kyle Spurgeon, Jackson Chamber; Ken and Jeff Brasfield of Brasfield Construction; Tom Barry, former CEO of Mighty; Pelham Wilder, former CFO; and Brad Bradshaw, Josh D'Agostino and Gary Vann of Mighty's home office team in Atlanta.

JACKSON, Tenn. — Mighty Distributing System of America has completed a 27,000-sq.-ft. expansion to its warehouse in Jackson, Tenn.

The expansion increased the facility's size 20 percent to 163,000 square feet, allowing for better organization of inventories of automotive aftermarket parts, products and lubricants.

Mighty did not disclose the investment in the expansion, which was started about 18 months ago.

"This facility is a critical element in the supply chain for the Mighty system," Mighty President and CEO Ken Voelker said.

"Half of the space is to store today's proliferation of lubricants in an ultra-safe area with fire-rated wallboard, special fire doors and a huge catch basin to capture any potential spills. The other half is for our vast international shipments with an expanded staging area for container loads of Mighty product," Mr. Voelker said.

Norcross, Ga.-based Mighty, which is celebrating its 55th year is business, services a network of more than 100 domestic franchised distributors and six international partners with Mighty's private-branded automotive maintenance products (filters, brake products, chemicals and lubricants) for sale to tire stores, quick lube shops, car dealerships and fleet customers.
