NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Bridgestone Americas Inc. has launched the Bandag BDM3 retread for refuse applications. The company said it is designed with a proprietary tread compound for 10-percent improved wear life compared to the BDM2, as well as enhanced traction and cut/chip resistance.
The Bandag BDM3 retread features a non-directional tread pattern that Bridgestone said delivers traction in various on/off-highway environments and helps reduce mounting complexity.
The retread also has a stone rejection technology that lessens stone retention and increases tire casing life.
LaTres Jarrett, director of marketing, Bandag, Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations, said that because refuse fleets encounter a variety of terrain and conditions, the Bandag BDM3 was designed "to be a high performing, mixed service solution that can withstand the rigors of the waste industry.
"The Bandag BDM3 retread," he added, "extends tire casing life to help fleets capitalize on their full tire asset potential and positively impact the bottom line."
