Owners of 2006-10 Honda Civic and Element or 2008-09 Accord models with manual transmissions may complain of a pop, squeak or click when the clutch pedal is depressed or released.
One likely cause for the noise, Honda said, is insufficient clearance between the clutch master cylinder piston and push rod. Because there's no adjustment at the push rod, replacing the entire master cylinder with an updated design is the only remedy. Order part No. 46925-TA0-A02 for Accords and Civics; and part No. 46920-S7A-A04 for Element models.
