LAS VEGAS — Forgeline Motorsports and Dymag Group Ltd. have formed a partnership to ensure supply of carbon-fiber barrels for Forgeline's "Carbon+Forged" lightweight performance wheel line.

Under the new partnership, Wiltshire, England-based Dymag will manufacture and supply carbon fiber wheel barrels to Forgeline, which combines them with its own forged aluminum, made-to-order wheel centers at its plant in Dayton, Ohio.

The new partners already have collaborated on a new flange design that allows Forgeline to bolt together the separate parts into a strong and lightweight wheel that is individually engineered, machined and finished for each customer and vehicle application.

Forgeline launched the Carbon+Forged Series at the 2016 SEMA Show, where it earned a Global Media Award. Since then, Forgeline has expanded the series to four models.

"Our partnership with Dymag is natural fit," Forgeline President Dave Schardt said. "Both companies have a long history of innovation, technological advancement, and a deep passion for motorsport.

"The engineering that goes into the testing and production of these wheels is very complex, and it has been a pleasure working with the Dymag team and merging our respective capabilities. We look forward to using their flanged style carbon fiber barrels and for the opportunity to employ their technology into our growing line of Carbon+Forged hybrid material wheels."

Forgeline previously worked with Emergent Carbon Wheels of Kansas City as the supplier of the carbon-fiber barrels, but that arrangement ended earlier this year after Emergent was acquired by an OE supplier, Lacks Enterprises Inc.

Dymag Performance Wheels has been involved in carbon-wheel technology for more than 20 years, launching the first commercial carbon motorcycle wheel in 1996 and the first carbon hybrid auto wheel in 2004, according to Dymag CEO Chris Shelley.

It builds and markets its own line of carbon-fiber/alloy hybrid wheels under the Boxstrom brand in a separate partnership with Brixton Forged Wheels.

Forgeline is displaying the Carbon+Forged wheel line, along with its full portfolio, at the SEMA Show, in the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
