STOW, Ohio — Mickey Thompson Tires & Wheels has developed online dealer training courses, initially for the company's light truck tire lines, designed to help its dealers be more effective in recommending its products.
The company, a subsidiary of Cooper Tire & Rubber Co., expects to launch courses for its street and drag tire in early 2019.
Available on the company's website, the M/T Training Experience courses are designed to familiarize dealers with the features and benefits of Mickey Thompson's various tire models, allowing them to direct consumers to the exact products needed for their specific applications.
"Our online courses were created with our dealers in mind, giving them the opportunity to learn more about our company and our products," Ken Warner, vice president of marketing, said.
"These simple courses will ensure shops have the information needed to make them an expert on the features, benefits and fitments of each Mickey Thompson tire line."
Following a simple log-in, dealers watch short videos outlining information about specific characteristics of the tires in question. Dealers progress through the training by correctly answering questions along the way.
