STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. — TPM diagnostic tools supplier Bartec USA L.L.C. has released a software update for its TPMS tool line that includes a feature designed to help technicians select a specific vehicle and retrieve TPMS fault codes in a single step.
The proprietary feature, called VINdicate, is included in software update 58 for current subscribers, Bartec said.
Working through a vehicle's OBDII port, VINdicate detects and decodes the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) along with any diagnostic trouble codes (DTC), Bartec said, providing the technician with a more complete understanding of what services —including TPMS — might be necessary.
Update 58 includes a range of other new features, Bartec said, that are available depending on which Bartec tool is being used. Customers can check this and other software release bulletins by visiting the tech support page on Bartec's TPMS Desktop.
All of the information collected is stored and is easily retrieved and displayed on informative inspection reports, according to Product Manager Michael Rose, simplifying the TPMS diagnostic and service process to help customers sell more TPMS parts and service.
Update 58 also contains placard coverage for the Tech400 Pro. Bartec tools use a secure method for adjusting the placard to prevent making the TPMS inoperative.
Bartec has posted a document on its website that covers what update 58 offers.
