BOWIE, Md. — Jim Hobart, a Republican pollster and partner at Public Opinion Strategies, will be the guest speaker at the Tire Industry Association Honors event, Oct. 29 in Las Vegas.

The TIA awards ceremony will be held prior to the opening of the Global Tire Expo-Powered by TIA, part of the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show, Oct. 30-Nov. 2, at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The award ceremony and pre-show events will be held at the Paris Las Vegas hotel and will include the association's Tire Industry Hall of Fame induction and other award presentations.

Mr. Hobart will provide attendees with a preview of the 2018 midterm elections and how he thinks the results will affect the final two years of President Trump's first term.

Over the past four election cycles, Mr. Hobart has been a part of the polling team in some of the most competitive and important elections in the country and in 2013, he received the Rising Star Award from Campaigns & Elections magazine.

In 2014, his work was focused on independent expenditure (IE) efforts that helped Republicans win a majority in the U.S. Senate and expand their majority in the U.S. House. He also worked to conduct polling on behalf of SuperPACs in winning Senate campaigns in Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia and Kansas. He conducted polling on behalf of IE efforts in 11 successful U.S. House campaigns.

He has appeared on C-SPAN, CNN, NPR, Sky News and Hill TV to comment on polling and campaign politics.

Mr. Hobart also directed the research on projects for numerous Fortune 100 clients, including Bank of America Corp., Walmart Inc. and Verizon Communications Inc.
