GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo. — Leeds West Groups (LWG), a Big O Tires and Midas franchisee, has hired Peter Derschang to be its chief financial officer.
Mr. Derschang has 30-plus years of industry senior financial management experience. Prior to joining LWG, he was CFO at Brakes Plus Corp. for seven years. He also has experience in national non-profits as well as the defense industry and public accounting, LWG said.
He replaces Brady Miller, who has left the industry, LWG said. He also sits on LWG's advisory board of directors.
LWG CEO Judd Shader lauded Mr. Derschang's industry knowledge, leadership experience and financial expertise, which he said "will be tremendous resources" for LWG and the board of directors.
"Peter is a fantastic addition to our senior leadership team and an incredible resource to the board of directors," Mr. Shader said.
LWG operates a dozen Big O Tires outlets in Colorado and 85 Midas locations in Colorado and 15 other states. The company nearly doubled in size in 2017 with the acquisition of 42 Midas outlets from Auto Systems Experts and added its 99th location recently, taking over a Midas shop in Appleton, Wis.
Mr. Shader is Midas' multi-shop Franchisee of the Year for 2018.
LWG also disclosed that its chairman, Joshua Weinreich, has joined the board of directors of E*TRADE Financial Corp. and will sit on E*Trade's compensation and governance committees.
