RNR Tire Express promotes piracy in social media campaign

    TAMPA, Fla.—Through its newest giveaway promotion, RNR Tire Express is giving one person the chance to walk away with a new set of tires and wheels and have a little bit of fun in the process.

    The promotion, developed in honor of International Talk Like a Pirate Day on Sept. 19, gives folks the chance to share how the franchise has impacted their lives. To participate, entrants visit the company's Facebook page, where a video of the promotion's mascot, Captain Jack Spare, is pinned. Contestants who comment on the post with a video of their own, one in which they share their thoughts in their best pirate speak and use the #JackSpare and #TalkLikeAPirate will be considered for the prize.

    Vince Ficarrotta, RNR's vice president of franchise development, who portrays Jack Spare in the RNR video, will choose the winning video. The video will be unveiled Sept. 22 on Facebook and during the grand opening celebration of of RNR Tire Express in Colorado Springs, Colo.

    No purchase is necessary to participate and the deadline to enter is midnight Sept. 20.

    The giveaway campaign was a natural fit for RNR, which is based in Tampa, the city that plays host to the annual Gasarpilla Pirate Festival and serves as home to the National Football League's Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

    "At RNR, we dedicate ourselves to being the best tire and wheel concept in America, but we wouldn't be where we are today without our loyal customers," said Larry Sutton, founder and CEO of RNR. "What better way to engage with and thank these customers and our communities than by encouraging them to have a little fun with us and collectively celebrate our Tampa roots."
