CONWAY, Ark. — Snap-On Inc.'s John Bean brand has developed a heavy-duty wheel-balancing system that the company said is suitable for shops that perform multiple heavy-duty balance jobs daily.
According to John Bean, the 9800 Heavy Duty Wheel Balancing System is capable of handling wheels ranging from 12 inches in rim diameter to heavy-duty-sized wheels as big as 24.5 inches, plus super-single tires. The equipment includes tooling needed for cars, light trucks and heavy-duty trucks.
Other features include:
- Pneumatic wheel lift, which the company said helps proper wheel mounting and reduces strains caused by lifting heavy tires;
- Semi-automatic data entry, which helps eliminate errors; and
- Self-calibration by operator with two steps, improving accuracy, while saving on service calls.
Kyle Harris, product manager for John Bean, said the system features "an intuitive user interface" and is "designed to balance truck, bus, RV and automobile wheel and tire assemblies quickly and easily."
He said the product is versatile and is able to balance sensitive alloy wheels by hiding weights behind spokes.
