AUSTIN, Texas —The Auto Care Association has selected the winners of its 2018 Impact Awards, Mort Schwartz Excellence in Education Award and Auto Care Career and Education Award.
The Impact Awards honor four auto care industry professionals, age 40 or younger, who have demonstrated extraordinary leadership or made remarkable contributions to the auto care industry, the ACA said.
This year's winners are:
- JR Bishop, director of marketing, Federated Auto Parts Dist. Inc.;
- James O'Dell, manager of marketing, Motown Automotive Distributing Co.;
- Nathan Shipley, executive director and industry analyst, NPD Group Inc.; and
- John C. Washbish, director of marketing, Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance Inc.
The Mort Schwartz Award goes to an individual who demonstrates a passion for advancing education programs in the auto care industry. This year's winner is Brent Berman, director of training and consumer experience at Federal-Mogul Motorparts.
The ACE Award recognizes companies in the auto care industry that demonstrate dedication to investing in the growth of their employees' knowledge and skills.
ACE Awards are given in small and large company categories. The 2018 small company winner is Ervine's Auto Repair and Grand Rapids Hybrid, Grand Rapids, Mich. The large company winner is Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance, San Antonio, Texas.
All the winners were honors at the ACA's Fall Leadership Days in Austin, Texas, on Sept. 6.
