CHIANG RAI, Thailand — This year's Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries (ANRPC) annual conference, set for Oct. 8 in Chiang Rai, is organized around the theme "Adapting for the Emerging Megatrends."
The one-day event is expected to attract 300 natural rubber industry representatives, including analysts and policymakers from 15 countries, the ANRPC said.
The aim of the event is to provide a forum where those directly involved in the industry can discuss matters most pressing to their stakeholders and develop a strategy that will guide the industry forward amid changing expectations and technological disruptions.
Several presentations are planned, including a keynote address.
A panel discussion, titled "Breaking the barriers and striving for a sustainable future: Are smallholders equipped to embrace the emerging scenario?," features NR representatives from Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, China, Malaysia, India, Cambodia, Myanmar, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Papua New Guinea.
The full program can be viewed on the ANRPC's web site.
The 11th ANRPC Annual Rubber Conference is being held at the The Riverie by Katathani — formerly Dusit Island Resort — in Chiang Rai.
