FORT MILL, S.C. — Continental Tire the Americas Inc. is adding a version of its General G-MAX ultra-high-performance (UHP) tire line designed for law enforcement and high-speed pursuit applications.

The model, the G-MAX Justice, incorporates technologies that offer precise handling, all-season traction and a longer tread life, Conti said.

"With the success of the G-MAX series of ultra-high-performance tires, it made perfect sense that the next iteration of it would be a pursuit-class tire," Travis Roffler, director of marketing for Conti's General Tire brand, said.

"It was a natural progression to provide our law enforcement agencies across the United States with a tire that we believe sets a new benchmark in the segment."

The General G-MAX Justice — an extension of the G-MAX AS-05 and G-MAX RS models — features Conti's "SmartGrip Technology," which includes a strong center rib for controlled steering and stable shoulder blocks to enhance grip. It also has a silica-reinforced, all-season compound and siping that General Tire claims ensures grip in wet and snowy conditions, while offering 15 percent better braking performance that its competitors.

The StabiliTread technology included in the design offers a wider footprint and provides a longer tread life than its competitor, according to General Tire.

Made in the U.S., the G-MAX Justice will be available beginning in October in six sizes, fitments for Chevrolet Caprice PPV, Impala Police and Tahoe PPV, Dodge Charger Pursuit and Ford Police Interceptor Sedan and Utility.
