HANOVER, Germany — Argentinian rubber product manufacturer and distributor BUCO S.A. has agreed to distribute Continental-brand agricultural tires in Argentina.
Continental A.G. said the deal "will open up new opportunities and field experience meeting agriculture manufacturers' and farmers' needs by supplying high quality products." The deal covers 1,500 radial and bias-ply farm tires over three years, the companies said.
BUCO will request certain sizes, and distribution will begin immediately, according to Continental.
Buenos Aires-based BUCO, which has been in business for more than 50 years, manufactures and distributes rubber parts for agriculture machinery, including semi-pneumatic tires and seed tubes for ag applications.
Earlier this year, more than two years after it confirmed plans to re-enter the farm tire market, Continental launched its first two standard ag tires, the Tractor 70 and 85. The tires will be on display at the Farm Progress Show, set for Aug. 28-30 in Boone, Ohio.
The premium radial drive tires are available in 14 sizes, a fraction of the 100 sizes Conti said it will offer in its radial and bias-ply tire portfolio by 2019.
