FORT MILL, S.C. — Continental Tires the Americas has appointed Pavel Prouza head of sales and marketing for the U.S. subsidiary's Commercial Specialty Tires unit. The move is effective immediately.
In this role, Mr. Prouza will oversee all materials-handling, earthmoving and agriculture tire business in North, Central and South America. He will report directly to Enno Straten, global head of Commercial Specialty Tires.
Mr. Prouza succeeds Federico Jimenez, who is becoming a key account manager for the Commercial Specialty Tires team in Spain for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
Mr. Prouza joined Continental in 2007, with Continental's acquisition of Siemens VDO Automotive Corp., where he was focus factory controller. Since joining Conti, Mr. Prouz has spent time working at facilities in Auburn Hills, Mich., and Silao, Mexico.
He most recently was head of controlling for Continental A.G.'s Commercial Specialty Tires unit in Hanover, Germany.
Mr. Prouza holds an MBA from the Czech Management Institute and a master's degree from the Czech University of Life Sciences.
Mr. Straten said Mr. Prouza's experience at the headquarters and deep knowledge and experience in the Americas "will further strengthen our position in the American markets."
