DOTHAN, Ala. — Hornsby Tire Distributors is expanding its distribution footprint in northern Florida with the opening of a warehouse in Jacksonville, Fla.
The new center, which opened Aug. 1, is Dothan-based Hornsby Tire's sixth distribution center. Located in east Jacksonville near the intersection of I-10 and I-295, the 50,000-sq.-ft. facility previously was part of the Goodyear wholesale tire network.
"While there have clearly been a number of sizable changes within the wholesale sector thus far this year, we continue to execute the fundamentals on a daily basis," Hornsby CEO Steve Mattis said, noting that Hornsby is 100-percent focused on the wholesale channel.
"Our singular driving force is concentrating on our dealers' needs as a value-added distributor," he added. "Ultimately, we succeed when our customers succeed…. We will continue to scale up our company as opportunities are discovered, and we look forward to the future as we build upon our company's 51-year history."
Hornsby supplies customers in Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, and Tennessee from five warehouses in Alabama — Ariton, Birmingham, Dothan, Madison and Theodore — and one in Columbus, Ga. The Jacksonville center also will provide coverage for southern Georgia, Hornsby said.
Hornsby last expanded in 2015, opening the Theodore warehouse to service dealers in southern Alabama and the Florida Panhandle.
The wholesaler features brands such as: Crosswind, Dick Cepek, Maxxis, Mickey Thompson, Nexen, Toyo, Roadx, Rubbermaster and Yokohama, according to its website.
The company carries passenger, light truck, medium truck, commercial, OTR, and agricultural tires.
