SANTA ANA, Calif. — Yokohama Tire Corp. (YTC) is planning to provide Yokohama-branded jerseys to more than 11,000 youth soccer players throughout the U.S. in line with its position as the Official Tire of U.S. Youth Soccer.
Teams selected to receive the jerseys include:
- Slammers FC (Orange County, Calif.);
- Houston Texans (Houston);
- Aztec SC (Boston);
- FCUSA (Boston, Philadelphia, NY Metro, Baltimore, Cape Cod and North and South Jersey); and
- SSA (Atlanta).
"We're happy to partner with and sponsor these stellar clubs," Alan Holtschneider, Yokohama's director of marketing said in a statement. "We're committed to youth soccer in the U.S."
The jersey sponsorship extends the partnerships already established by the tire maker, including title sponsorships of the SSA Chelsea Tournaments, Needham Memorial Day Tournament, Manhattan Kickoff Classic, Austin Labor Day, the Jack Walsh Memorial Tournament and Slammers FC Classic.
Yokohama also is the the official shirt sponsor of English Premier League soccer team Chelsea FC.
