HORSHAM, Pa. — AAMCO Transmissions Inc. is planning "aggressive development efforts" over the coming years in select cities in New Jersey and New York with plans for at least a dozen new locations.
The new shops, in select cities throughout New York's Westchester County and in North and Central New Jersey, would complement 35 franchised AAMCO locations in operation in New York and New Jersey, the company said.
"New York and New Jersey are prime territories for our targeted expansion, and we are taking the time to find strong potential franchisees to spearhead our aggressive growth over the next few years," Brian O'Donnell, senior vice president of franchise sales, said.
"Our proven business model, extensive training, and ongoing support has fueled the success of our existing franchisees in these two states and I am confident that entrepreneurs looking to open their own AAMCO will be garner the same success."
With more than 600 automotive service centers across North America, AAMCO said it is actively seeking single- and multi-unit franchisee operators to grow the brand nationwide.
Interested candidates should have a minimum net worth of $250,000 and liquid assets of at least $65,000 per unit, AAMCO said. Depending on the real estate site selected, franchisees can expect the total investment to be approximately $223,600 to $330,000 with a $39,500 initial franchise fee.
AAMCO has been part of Icahn Enterprises L.P. since October, when Icahn acquired American Driveline Systems, franchisor of the AAMCO Total Car Care and Cottman Transmission & Total Auto Care businesses.
