FORT MILL, S.C. — Continental Tire the Americas' BestDrive L.L.C. commercial tires subsidiary has opened two locations in Texas and disclosed plans to open shops in seven more states before year-end 2019, as well as more in Texas.

The new locations, in San Antonio and Grand Prairie, expand the BestDrive network to 24 commercial tire centers in 14 states.

The 100,000-sq.-ft. facility in Grand Prairie, a western Dallas suburb, includes a retread shop alongside the tire center.

The center, a greenfield construction, is located near Interstate 30, providing customers ready access. The retread shop is designed to supply customers in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and has room for up to two additional curing chambers as volume increases, Continental said.

The 24,000-sq.-ft. San Antonio location is at the intersection of Interstate routes 10 and 410 on the city's east side. The service center, also a greenfield construction, will provide new tires and commercial services as well as distribute ContiTread retread tires produced at the Dallas shop.

"We are excited to open these locations in Dallas and San Antonio because it allows us to honor our commitment to our fleet customers to provide them seamless and consistent coverage across the country," BestDrive Managing Director Sonny Simpson said.

"Having two new locations in Texas will allow us to produce and distribute our product to the region with higher speed, and will allow us the opportunity to provide the world-class service that our customers have learned to expect from our company."

BestDrive commercial tire centers offer fleet tire management with Continental-, General- and Ameristeel-brand products, as well as other supplemental tire brands and ContiTread retread solutions.

Conti said it plans to open additional BestDrive locations in Texas in the near future, but declined to identify the locations. The business' website, however, shows sites in Houston and Longview, Texas.

Services available at all BestDrive outlets include commercial tire mounting, dismounting and balancing, 24-hour emergency road service, wheel refinishing, new and used wheels, air-up programs, commercial truck alignments and fleet checks.
