ROSEMONT, Ill. — The Automotive Maintenance & Repair Association (AMRA) will hold a "technology summit" as part of its Fall Technical Meeting, scheduled for Aug. 29-30 in Rosemont.
The technology summit will consist of four one-hour sessions on the afternoon of the 30th focusing on accessing data for repairing vehicles as well as the resulting interaction with the motorist, AMRA said. The fall meeting and summit will take place at the OLC Learning Center in Rosemont, near Chicago's O'Hare Airport.
AMRA has lined up presenters from key service providers, such as AutoVitals Inc., Bolt On Technology L.L.C., Solera Holdings/Identifix, AllData L.L.C., Carquest Auto Parts' Virtual Vehicle, MotoShop's MotoLogic, and Hunter Engineering Co. to present their views serving motorist with transparency and trust.
Participants will have the opportunity to hear brief presentations from the technology partners as a group and then break out to have one-on-one time to meet with the technology partners individually.
AMRA's Technical Meetings are part of the group's Motorist Assurance Program (MAP) and are held three times annually. They are designed to help AMRA/MAP members serve motorists and their increasingly complex vehicles better, according to AMRA President Jeff Cox.
The meetings include major service providers as well as other industry companies that support them.
The 2018 fall meeting will include presentations from industry experts designed to inform attendees of recent changes to auto technology, process and manufacturing.
"We are coming off the heels of record attendance from our Spring Technical Meeting, and I believe this meeting will be our best one yet," Mr. Cox said.
Along with technical presentations, the Fall meeting will feature a networking dinner bringing industry professionals together to foster relationships and collaboration.
