AKRON — Nominations are due July 31 for the 2018 Tire Dealer Humanitarian Award, which recognizes an independent tire dealer or retreader who, during the past year, has made significant contributions to the betterment of his or her community through charitable or public service work.
The winner, selected by an independent committee outside of the tire industry, will receive the Tire Dealer Humanitarian Award Medal and a $2,500 donation to the charity of his or her choice.
The 25th annual award, sponsored by Tire Business, will be presented during the 2018 Tire Industry Association Honors Night on Oct. 29, prior to the opening of the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show, Oct. 30-Nov. 2, in Las Vegas. Kent Olson of Olson Tire Pros & Automotive Service in Wausau, Wis., was the 2017 recipient.
