WAKEFIELD, Mass. — Caterpillar Inc. has selected Trelleborg Wheel System S.p.A.'s Brawler Solidflex HPS solid tire line as an OE fitment option for its line of Cat medium- and small-wheel loaders, according to Trelleborg.
"Caterpillar's choice of the Brawler Solidflex HPS tire as its OEM solid tire option on its wheel loaders is right in line with their tradition of providing the best business-driving value to their customers," Jared Steier, director OEM/OEA sales North America for Trelleborg's industrial and construction tires, said.
Wheel loaders, also known as front-end loaders, are used in landscaping, agricultural, construction, waste management, forestry, or mining applications, Caterpillar said.
Cat offers 11 small loader models running run from 115- to 188-hp options and bucket capacities of 1.7 to 5 cubic yards, while the medium category has 17 models starting at 230 hp with bucket capacities of 10 to 16 cubic yards.
The Brawler HPS Solidflex has elliptical apertures that Trelleborg said delivers a comfortable ride, resulting in reduced equipment and operator fatigue. It features a durable cut-resistant rubber compound as well as a deep-lug tread design with three times more wearable rubber than most pneumatic tires.
Caterpillar said it is the world's leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives.
