BETTENDORF, Iowa — Deere & Co. has recognized Camso Ltd. as a partner-level supplier for 2017, the tractor and construction equipment maker's highest supplier rating.
Camso employees accepted the award during a ceremony April 17 in Bettendorf, Iowa, the company said. Magog, Quebec-based Camso suppiles Deere with agricultural tracks and track systems.
The company also was inducted into Deere's Supplier Hall of Fame in the John Deere Achieving Excellence Program. Hall of Fame status is given after a supplier reaches the partner-level rating for five consecutive years, Camso said.
Suppliers participating in the Achieving Excellence program are evaluated annually in key areas such as quality, cost management, delivery, technical support and responsiveness. The program was created in 1991.
Camso recently disclosed plans to open a plant in Junction City, Kan., for making tracks and track systems for agriculture and construction applications.
The 139,000-sq.-ft. facility will complement an existing track business plant in Emporia, Kan., and help the Magog, Quebec-based company "deliver on the increasing demand of our agriculture and construction track products," according to Hugues Lajoie, vice president and general manager – agriculture at Camso.
