    HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — Hercules Tires & Rubber Co. has begun offering road-hazard coverage on select Ironman-brand passenger and light truck tires in the U.S and Canada.

    The Ironman brand's road-hazard protection policy — provided in the purchase price on the selected tires — promises free replacement with a comparable Ironman brand tire within the first 12 months of purchase or 2/32nds-inch of treadwear, whichever comes first, and covers tires damaged as the result of common road hazards such as potholes or nails encountered during the course of normal on-road driving.

    After the initial 12 months a prorated credit is provided within two years from purchase or the first 50 percent of tread life, whichever comes first.

    "The added benefit of road-hazard coverage on the expanding lineup of Ironman tires allows our customers and the end consumer to rest easy knowing they're not only getting a quality tire at an affordable price, but also the confidence of superior support, which should make the decision to purchase the Ironman brand an easy one," Joshua Simpson, senior vice president of proprietary brands, said.

    The tires with the coverage are:

    • Passenger — iMOVE Gen2 AS; RB-12; RB-12 NWS; and GR 906;
    • SUV/Light truck — iMOVE GEN2 SUV; RB-SUV; RB-LT; Radial A/P; All Country A/T; and All Country CHT.

    Ironman is an associate brand of Hercules Tires, a subsidiary of American Tire Distributors Inc. The brand family includes passenger, light truck and medium truck tires.
