HANOVER, Germany — Online retailer Delticom A.G. — which is active in North America via the sites tires-easy.com, giga-tires.com and tires-easy.ca — is reviewing its strategic options in North America in light of strong growth in the sector.
Hannover-based Delticom said sales by its North American subsidiary grew by nearly 50 percent last year over 2016.
Globally, Delticom generated sales last year of $750 million, serving more than 11.4 million customer in 72 countries through more than 430 online shops and distribution platforms. Europe accounted for more than three-fourths of sales last year, Delticom figures show.
Delticom did not go into detail about its revised strategy in North America, other than to say it is "examining various development paths for Delticom North America Inc. and is in discussion with a selection of potential investors and market participants."
Management will make an unbiased decision regarding Delticom's future operations in North America after analyzing various strategic options, the firm said.
Delticom claims to be the leading online distributor of tires and car accessories in Europe and also is active in food distribution.
