CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Cleveland Plain Dealer newspaper has named Dealer Tire L.L.C. a "top workplace" in Northeast Ohio, based on the results of a feedback survey of employees administered by an independent research firm.
This was the second year running that Dealer Tire was named a top workplace. In 2016, it was named a "workplace achiever."
The company, which serves new car dealers exclusively, was ranked eighth out of 25 large companies in the newspaper's study, up from 26th out of 50 mid-sized companies a year earlier.
"We're happy to be named a top workplace once again because associate engagement is an important focus for us," Dealer Tire CEO and Partner Scott Mueller said.
"Insights gained from our own internal surveys and other assessments enable us to develop the benefits, activities, communications and work environment that help us attract, develop and engage our talented associates."
In order for a company to qualify for recognition as a top workplace, at least 35 percent of the firm's employees must take part in the survey process; 81 percent of Dealer Tire's employees in Northeast Ohio completed the survey, the dealership said.
Overall, more than 1,400 companies were invited to participate in the survey, and 150 were selected as top workplaces.
Dealer Tire has approximately 500 associates in Northeast Ohio and more than 1,300 across the U.S. Founded in 1918 as Mueller Tire & Brake, the business morphed into Dealer Tire in 1999.
