PHILADELPHIA — Online tire retailer SimpleTire L.L.C. has awarded scholarships to two Lawrence High School seniors for their academic achievements and high aspirations.
SimpleTire CEO Andy Chalofsky — a 2004 graduate of Lawrence High School in Lawrence Township, N.J. — presented the SimpleTire Business Scholarships to Sara Hatfield and Victoria Wierzbowicz, who graduated June 20.
The pair were recognized for having above average grade point averages, high proficiency in business education and achievements in DECA, a career and technical student organization.
The SimpleTire Business Scholarship, for an undisclosed amount, will assist both students in their pursuit of higher education and business endeavors, the company said.
Ms. Hatfield plans to attend the University of Maryland – College Park to pursue a degree in community health and minor in non-profit business and Spanish.
Ms. Wierzbowicz plans to attend Gettysburg College to pursue a degree in organization and management studies.
This is the second year SimpleTire has awarded scholarships to the school.
