Some 2006 Cadillac XLR-V sports cars built before VIN breakpoint 65601619, as well as 2007-08 models built prior to Sept. 1, 2007, may intermittently display Service Stabilitrak and Traction System Off messages on the driver information center.
In addition, the traction control off indicator light may be illuminated with trouble code C0561 logged in the body control module (BCM).
One likely cause for the troubles, says GM, is the electronic brake control module (EBCM) incorrectly receiving and processing the brake pedal position rolling count signal being transmitted from the BCM.
Reprogramming the ECBM with updated software is the only surefire remedy. Check with a dealer for the specifics of the flash.
