BLUE BELL, Pa. — Bay Area Tire & Service has implemented VAST Enterprise Retail, a point-of-sale and management system designed for both single and multi-location tire dealers and auto service shops, at its six Maryland locations.
The software is provided by MAM Software Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of MAM Software Group Inc.
Bay Tire & Service, which operates locations in Pasadena, Severna Park, Glen Burnie, Westminster, Eldersburg and Annapolis, Md., is a member of the Goodyear Tire & Service Network, MAP (Motorists Assurance Plan) and the Chesapeake Automotive Business Association.
Bay Tire said it began looking two years ago for an alternative solution that would integrate with Goodyear and its other outside part and tire suppliers, as well as offer a customer friendly solution.
Brandon Tracey, general manager of Bay Area Tire, said his company made the decision because it "gave us the peace of mind that our customers wouldn't miss a beat as well as our advisors."
John Fischer, vice president of sales and marketing at MAM Software, said VAST will be able to provide Bay Area Tire modern technology and integration, "in addition to some of the added functionality such as integrated parts and tire ordering in addition to StockTake, our mobile physical inventory app that utilizes a touch screen interface and bar-code scanning.
