WASHINGTON — Continental Tire the Americas L.L.C. is recalling 655 Conti Hybrid H53 medium truck tires, size 11R22.5, Load Range G, because tire cords may be visible through the inner liner.
The recall affects approximately 655 tires, produced during the ninth, 10th and 11th week of 2018 in Conti's plant in Mount Vernon, Ill.
The tires have Department of Transportation identification number of A33TKWUX, with date codes of 0918 to 1118, according to the recall notice from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Tires with cords visible through the inner liners may suffer a sudden loss of air, NHTSA said.
Conti will replace the tires free.
The tire maker has not yet provided a schedule for notifying customers and dealers, but tire owners may contact Conti's customer service line at 888-799-2168.
