MILLWOOD, N.Y. — Mavis Tire Supply has expanded its network of retail stores in the past several weeks by 11, acquiring Dekalb Tire of Atlanta and Hill Tire Centers of Moncks Corner, S.C.
These acquisitions — plus four other deals totaling a dozen stores — push Mavis' retail network to 528 stores in 10 states.
Mavis did not disclose any details surrounding the acquisitions.
There are six DeKalb Tire stores in Georgia: Buckhead, Cumming, Dunwoody, Marietta, Sandy Springs and Tucker. The family-owned business opened in 1965.
In South Carolina there are five Hill Tire Centers stores: Moncks Corner, Walterboro, Georgetown, Summerville and North Charleston.
Hill Tire owners Al, Ken, Chris and Joe Hill told local media that the company's employee and management team will continue under Mavis/Tire Engineers ownership.
